A kitchen island is superb to spot in any kinds of kitchen interior design. You can place it inside the modern, traditional, country and retro kitchen ideas. The latter one is fabulous because it reflects the beauty of 1960s until 1980s. The kitchen tools, cutlery, utensils, cabinet, and island in the retro room are unique and distinctive. The kitchen plan with retro design does not have to look complicated. You can choose the one wall design or L shaped design. The galley styled kitchen plan is another option if you have a medium sized place. You can put the kitchen island in the middle of the room in front the kitchen cabinet. Or you can set it at the corner as the extension of kitchen cabinet.
Since Kitchen Island has a lot of functions in a retro styled kitchen, you have to select it carefully. If you have more money to spend, purchase a custom made Kitchen Island. It will fit the kitchen dimension, color scheme and interior. Since you only have small cash, the standard island in the store is still great to have. You just have to match it with the current pieces. The flexible island to have is painted in white color. Since the retro kitchen color schemes are always dominated with bright and bold tone, the white island can neutralize the effect. You can paint the wall in teal, while the cabinet is painted in hot fuchsia or bright yellow tone.
It is very important to note the size of Kitchen Island. Measure the available space for putting the island. If it perfectly fits, the traffic flow will never get interrupted. You will be comfortable when cooking, preparing food and hanging out inside the retro kitchen. The kitchen island can be functioned as a dining space too. You just have to place several seats around the island. Some metal stools create an edgy feeling in the cooking room. If you want to make it a little vintage, you can choose the wooden stools with leather upholstery. At the top of Kitchen Island, you can install antique pendant lamps in black.
