Some people think that a living room should be decorated with a glossy coffee table, updated sofa, and stunning chairs. The opinion is correct if you want to build a modern feeling. The people who have a lot of money can purchase the latest furniture pieces in town. If you have a low budget to makeover the living room, use the simple ideas. There is no need to replace the drab and distressed sofa, chairs, coffee table and cabinet if you opt for shabby chic living room interior design.
The wooden coffee table and other furniture pieces can be painted in scratchy and dingy look to fit with the simple shabby chic design. The common color to spot inside a shabby chic living room is white tone. It is available in a lot of tones. You can choose vintage white, creamy white, pearl white and classic white tone. The latter one is superb to have. Many people select white as the primary wall color for it is flexible. You do not have to change the wall color even though you repaint the furniture pieces in different colors. Complement it with a pale yellow colored sofa set and a distressed white ottoman wooden coffee table. Put a clay vase on the top of coffee table and fill it with wild roses.
A stylish bronze finished chandelier is perfect to spot on the vintage white ceiling. It can feature several crystal bulbs. Make sure that the chandelier can illuminate the space appropriately. If the light produced is too harsh, you can minimize the usage of bulbs. Give more shabby chic characters with decorative accessories. The fireplace can be painted in soft grey tone or sage green tone if the wall is in white. Then you can put an ornate Venetian mirror on the wall. Add several candles located inside the glass bowls to evoke the romantic feeling. An open shelved cabinet is nice to spot at the corner space. Display the family’s heirloom such as the decorative china, plates and dishes here. Or you can set the pictures of family along the top of cabinet.
