Google is Finally Fixing the RAM Issues Plaguing the Pixel 3

Emails started rolling out this morning offering $125 or $200 off a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL for Google One subscribers. It's hoped that these "certain circumstances" include the scenario of running a music app in the background while the camera is launched.

That's why Google's new December software update for the Pixel 3 is so important, because in addition to improved camera performance, a security update, and better support for when the phone is paired with a Pixel Stand, the December patch also features a fix for the Pixel 3's overly aggressive memory management.

Besides patching the security issues, the update addresses a number of performance issues on the Pixel 3 and other smartphones.

So, if you've got a subscription, here's another deal for you: you're able to get hundreds of dollars off a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL by using a unique promo code that was sent to you or even being sent to you. Some users reported that music playing in the background would stop when they took a picture - that's how awful the Pixel 3 was at handling RAM. If you haven't seen the email for some reason, don't worry: you can still get the Google Pixel 3 deal by logging in to your Google One account. First, Google has adjusted the volume behaviour when connecting to a Bluetooth device, which applies to all Pixel phones. Nestled in with those deals should be the Google Pixel 3 deal.

That's not really much to shout about though, given you can already get those prices at Carphone Warehouse and John Lewis.
