The US actor will play Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will see British star Tom Holland reprise his role as the web-swinging superhero.

The character was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #13 back in June 1964. Quite an odd villain, Mysterio relies on more of a smoke and mirrors approach in trying to defeat his spider-nemesis.

Fans couldn't contain their excitement in the comments section.

Marvel has three movies set to launch next year, including Captain Marvel (March), Avengers 4 (May), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (July), so marketing for these movies has already started.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in the United Kingdom on July 5, 2019.

The main characters from Homecoming will all return, with Tom Holland of course reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya returning as Michelle Jones, and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned, while Marissa Tomei will also return as May Parker. Tom accidentally revealed the title of the movie and fans went insane.
