Along with Donald Trump and Melania Trump, former U.S. presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were seated in the first row of the Washington National Cathedral along with their spouses when Bush, the 43rd president took a moment to shake each of their hands.

Bush can be seen digging an item out of his left pocket as he approached the front pew of the National Cathedral, where President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, as well as three former Democratic presidents and first ladies, were seated. Sitting next to the Clintons was fellow Democrat Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn. Bush's casket, along with relatives and close friends, for around 70 miles (113 kilometers).

The nation is bidding a final farewell to America's 41st president.
