The first teaser posted by Huawei had a light dot, but it led to speculation that the company could be working on a phone with an in-display front camera. If you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see that this phone will sport a display camera hole in the upper-left corner, while its display will feature rounded corners. The phone is expected to arrive with Huawei's Kirin 980 processor as well as 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
As we can clearly see, this phone ditches the notch, replacing it with a display cutout for the front-facing camera.
The iPhone turned in a "flat" third quarter while Chinese brands Huawei and Xiaomi droves sales in their home country to grow their shares of the global smartphone market. The sole selfie camera here is expected to be coupled with a triple rear-camera setup as more sensors are now becoming the norm.
That's probably not a totally accurate translation of what Huawei actually wrote, but the gist of the text is that Huawei is planning to launch the Nova 4 this month. The new Nova is powered by a 3500mAh non-removable battery and an In-display fingerprint scanner.
Huawei has made a decision to take a leap and be the first smartphone maker to unveil a device with Samsung's Infinity-O display. LG had patented a design with display holes as well, same goes for ZTE, though those two companies will take a somewhat different approach, it seems, as LG patented a dual display hole, while ZTE intends to include an earpiece in the display.
2019 could be the year of the pinhole phone camera, by which we mean a circular cut-out for a camera in the screen.
