Seattle (6-5) is coming off of a dramatic 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers down in Charlotte last Sunday. Perhaps the 49ers could even play spoiler against teams in the playoff mix like the Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Bears, or a team jockeying for home-field advantage like the Los Angeles Rams.

It started when a reporter mentioned to just how risky Wilson can be when he scrambles. This time, Carson runs of 15 yards and 1 yard set up a attractive Wilson pass to Tyler Lockett for a 52-yard touchdown that put the Seahawks up 13-0 early in the second quarter. Wide receiver Dante Pettis led all receivers with 129 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while fellow rookie Jeff Wilson took over for starting running back Matt Breida, who was hampered by injury. Breida was efficient with his touches, running for 106 yards on just 14 carries.

Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner got the first pick-six of his career Sunday.

The 2-10 Niners' pursuit of the top pick also got some help from other bottom-dwelling teams who offered surprising results Sunday afternoon.

The real intrigue is going to be on the field once the game starts when you'll see Sherman going up against Doug Baldwin or potentially Tyler Lockett. Lockett is having a Pro Bowl season.

Richard Sherman isn't done talking about his abrupt release from the Seahawks, and he still appears to be upset with how his time with Seattle ended.

Yes, that's the flawless corner of the end zone, in case you were wondering.

The Seahawks have won 10 out of the past 11 meetings against the 49ers, including the last nine in a row. San Francisco never truly got close enough to put the game in doubt, but Mullens amassed over 300 passing yards in the second half in large part due to Seattle's inability to bring receivers down after the catch.

The game entered laugher territory late in the first half.

He said he looks forward to seeing some old friends and familiar faces, although quarterback Russell Wilson apparently isn't one of them. Turnovers are going to be huge for the Seahawks in this game as they can really get the crowd rolling with an early takeaway or two.

Afterward, Pete Carroll was asked what it means to the Seahawks to have moved into wild card position - they now hold the first wild-card spot as the NFC's fifth seed - on the same day the Rams clinched the NFC West.
