Neil deGrasse Tyson investigated by Fox, NatGeo Networks

Amet was interviewed by the religious blog Patheos after the #MeToo movement gained steam, which prompted two other women to come forward with allegations of their own.

"Accusations can damage a reputation and a marriage". Sometimes irreversibly. I see myself as loving husband and as a public servant - a scientist and educator who serves at the will of the public.

There's no guarantee the allegations will lead to any action against deGrasse Tyson.

In the Patheos article, Dr. Katelyn N. Allers of Bucknell University claimed deGrasse Tyson groped her at an event in 2009.

Allers said that she wouldn't describe the incident an assault, but that it was definitely "creepy". Tyson said many men who are accused of sexual misconduct in the #MeToo era are "presumed to be guilty by the court of public opinion".

Producer Drew Dowdle, for whom Watson worked for seven months in 2017, told The Post that Watson told him about her experience with Tyson a few months after quitting "Cosmos".

Tyson hosted 2014's Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, a science anthology in the vein of author Carl Sagan's 1980 series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has not yet made a statement on the investigation. The producer asked her whether she wanted to file a complaint, she said, but Watson declined. He apologized for making the production assistant feel uncomfortable. Watson left and reported the incident to her supervisor.

Tyson said their only physical interaction was a handshake he said he learned from a Native elder that he considered special, he wrote.

Last year, another woman, musician Tchiya Amet, accused the TV host of sexually assaulting her when they were both students at the University of Austin.

She recalled blacking out after Tyson gave her a drink and waking up naked on his bed. "Turned out to be the same person who I dated briefly in graduate school". "It is as though a false memory had been implanted, which, because it never actually happened, had to be remembered as an evening she doesn't remember".

Fox and National Geographic Networks said they will investigate the accusations made against Tyson, according to the Associated Press. 'I'm the accused, so why believe anything I say?' he also stated.

These stories may add some credence to a previous allegation which is much more serious.

Mashable has reached out to Tyson's representatives for comment.
