Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: Week 11 prediction

Cousins grew up in the northwest Chicago suburb of Barrington, and his allegiance to the Bears held strong well after his family moved to MI at age 13.

The status of struggling Bears kicker Cody Parkey is a BIG deal around Chicago.

It's now the second home game in a row the Bears will have moved from noon to 7:20 p.m., with this Sunday's game with the Minnesota Vikings making the move to the standalone night slot.

A win Sunday night would enable the Bears (6-3) to extend their division lead over Minnesota (5-3-1) to a game-and-a-half. The Bears are atop the NFC North at 6-3 prior battling the Vikings in a game with first place on the line. The Lions game was his third this season with 300-plus passing yards and at least three passing touchdowns, something no other Bears quarterback has accomplished. Interestingly, the Rams have had only one prime-time game thus far, beating the Vikings on a Thursday night back in Week 4, but they'll be featured this coming Monday in a showcase game against the Chiefs. With the spending the team has done in free agency over the last few offseasons and the contract extensions some key players have received recently, most of Minnesota's acquisitions will need to come through the NFL Draft.

Perhaps watershed is a way of saying (or avoid saying) it's a "must-win game", which people have saying for weeks now. "They're really good at making the non-pressure and the pressure look the same, and that's how they get on the edge of people all the time, is just that half-a-second, that half-step where whatever it is, a tackle slow-sets and then he's beat off the edge, or they're anxious about the A-gap and the B-gap pressure comes, or whatever it is". I think the command of the offense is probably his biggest thing in being able to go through progressions more, now.

There is one factor here that solidly favors the Bears: Quarterback Mitch Trubisky is a much better scrambler and runner than Kirk Cousins.

"I think I've grown a lot since that play", Trubisky said Wednesday. They have 30 sacks, which is fifth in the league, and have the second-most takeaways in the NFL this season with 16 interceptions and eight fumble recoveries. "They might not be fun for the offense, but they're still fun for us".

"I just think he's starting to feel more comfortable".

The Bears offense is also benefitting from the return of wide receiver Allen Robinson (who had a knee injury last season) and the addition of Anthony Miller.

"We have kind of been building here as we have been going through the process and trying to give him a little bit more in both special teams and offensive phases, and see how much he can handle from that aspect of it".

"Both defenses are very similar", he said.

Nagy has also transformed the defense, and Mack plays a big part of the new look.

"Obviously real important to us, real important to the organization", Patricia said of this week's salute to the military. He's got some really good quickness and really good feet.

Points could be hard to come by for both teams. "But just another good, young player that we're trying to work with and see if he can contribute and help us".

A victory would give the Bears a commanding lead over the Packers, who they play at home December 16, and a 1.5-game lead over the Vikings, who they face on the road in the regular-season finale.
