Jones helps Packers run away for 31-12 win over Dolphins

Jones made his best case yet that the offense must run through his hands and feet.

It's crunch time for the Green Bay Packers with the season getting late and the NFC North division slipping away from them.

Jones added a career-long 67-yarder to give him 96 yards on four carries in the first quarter alone.

The Packers Pro Bowler threw for 199 yards and two scores as Green Bay took down the Dolphins 31-12 on a chilly Sunday at Lambeau Field. In all, he accounted for 172 yards from scrimmage.

"Mr. Jones, yeah, he's a great back", Bell said.

"He's special", Bell said. "He plays real fast and he's really talented". The first guy doesn't bring him down a whole lot.

Jones' 145 yards rushing tied for the fourth-most in a game with Rodgers at quarterback.

"He's a slashing running back", tackle David Bakhtiari said.

Through the first 10 weeks of the season, the Green Bay Packers have tittered back and forth with their balance in the offensive game plan that has seen their running game being more a factor in recent weeks.

Frank Gore rushed for 90 yards to lead the Dolphins. Today, Mike McCarthy finally listened, and the results were outstanding.

But it doesn't mean he can't carry the Packers back into playoff contention. "That's the pulse of the NFL".

Davante Adams, of course, has proven himself as one of the NFL's top receivers, but defenses have been all over him.

As usual, the Packers return game was also hampered by penalties when they did try to run make kick and punt returns.

Here is a look at seven key takeaways from the Pack's much-needed win that gives the team hope as they begin another challenging two-game road trip.

Jones said he had about 10 family members, including both of his parents, in the stands at Lambeau to watch his career night.

"I don't care who's on the field". Jones said. "I don't think I've ever run 21 miles (per hour) before in my life".

Rodgers grew up in Chico, California, and played for Butte Community College and California before entering the National Football League, and owns a home just north of San Diego. "You do that, it's just a matter of time before he makes it right". He averaged 7.9 yards per rush before contact Sunday, which according to ESPN Stats & Information data was the second-best rate by any player with at least 15 rushes in a game this season. "It puts guys and the coaching staff, I guess, in a tough spot and the defense's eyes are all over the place". "He gets up on people, and everything is full speed". "I'm excited about my performance, and just to keep building".

After consecutive losses against the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots, two of the best teams in the league, the Green Bay Packers needed something to go their way ahead of two more hard road games at Seattle and Minnesota.
