The "God Is A Woman" star absolutely nails her performance on Ellen and even bursts into laughter at various points during it, giving the whole thing a really light-hearted feel as she sings about her past relationships.

Ariana Grande's debut performance of "thank u, next", her breakup anthem that succeeds at being both petty and empowering, was a pretty fine reflection of her life of late.

Ariana and her backup performers, Victoria Monet and Tayla Parx, channeled the 1996 film starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton in all-white ensembles.

After fans picked up on the lyrics in "thank u, next" directly referencing her former boyfriends including Mac Miller and Pete Davidson, Ariana revealed that she'd actually sent it to her exes days before she released it.

She moved into more emotional territory as the song progressed, holding back tears while singing about her future wedding day. However, the singer's rep has now told ET Canada the release had nothing to do with the "One Last Time" hitmaker.

Adding fuel to the fire, the biography of Zandhr on Spotify appeared in the upside down font which Ariana Grande has used on her most recent album campaign. "'Cause she grew from the drama".

Pete took to the Weekend Update desk to praise his ex.

"I thought we were supposed to exit", She laughed.

We loved how she and her girls simply marched up the stairs and off the set at the end of the number giving great attitude and girl power, but DeGeneres was on the stage waiting to chat with her. "We're happy that you came back", Ellen said before announcing that everyone was going home with a copy of Ariana's album, Sweetener.
