"We are focusing more on the features that the users should get when they unfold the device", said Harksang Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Mobile Visual R&D at Samsung Electronics. The foldable Galaxy smartphone might offer a 7-inch display and interestingly, this display might not necessarily fold into half.
Samsung has always been rumoured to be working on a foldable phone. It looks like a real clunker, but these first-generation devices are usually the first step toward a viable screen device. Further, it could cost a fortune as rumours have it that it may be priced at almost $1,500 which roughly translates to over Rs 1 lakh. According to a 91Mobiles report, the new Samsung Galaxy A series smartphone could retail for a price at Rs 39,000 in India. This allows for the flexibility to be used as a smartphone when folded or as a tablet when unfolded.
The flip phones of the early 2000s may be making a comeback next year, but instead of a small screen and physical keyboard, the new iteration will have a foldable display that opens up to a screen size similar to that of a small tablet.
If going by the current flagship smartphones, Samsung's new foldable phone is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or the proprietary Exynos 8910 octa-core CPU backed by 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB (or higher with microSD support), a big battery (4,000mAh or higher) and top-notch camera set with a wide-angle lens.More news: Jr. To Fight In December RIZIN Event

China's Huawei Technologies Co Ltd has also said it is planning to launch a 5G smartphone with a foldable screen in mid-2019.
