'Fortnite' Update Adds Balloons for a Fun New Way to Travel

The onslaught of new content for Fortnite continues, as developer Epic Games has released the game's latest patch.

"We've finished our first week of Glider Re-deploy being available in all modes", Epic says.

"Added support for Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and newer versions of PS4 and Xbox One controllers on Mac".

The new Glider feature was unveiled over a week ago, it will allow the players to have the opportunity to deploy the gliders whenever they're falling from around three stories in the air.

Fortnitemares continues through November 4th.

Epic Games hasn't announced anything more about the one-time event, and we can't be fully certain what it is going to be.

Beyond balloons, we found out that the Fortnitemares challenges will end on Sunday at 5pm, so you have until then to earn the Dark Engine glider. But take note, Balloons don't last forever and they will pop up when they reach the maximum height.

- When grappling as a vehicle passenger, the velocity of your vehicle is factored into the grapple force.

Only occurs in instances where vehicle velocity will be a net gain to grapple force. You'll also want to be in a match at that time so you can witness the event.

Meanwhile, explosives seem to be getting a buff, as 25 per cent of explosive damage will "now penetrate through structures and environment". The first will involve boosting glider audio above weapon audio. We also plan on adding additional changes in future updates. It was summoned by lightning, caused a floating island above Loot Lake, and eventually spawned weird, zombie-esque cube monsters.

During Fortnitemares, the cube created Halloween-themed monsters, but as the Halloween event will soon be over, the monsters will have to leave, and they'll probably be taking the cube with them. The update hit the servers this morning and brought with it a slew of changes and adjustments to the popular title from Epic Games.
