She sings "Even nearly got married / To Pete I'm so thankful".

Taking to SNL's Weekend Update on November 3, Pete Davidson had a sweet message for his ex Ariana Grande, who just released a song about their split, "Thank U, Next".

Pete Davidson got candid and sweet while addressing his breakup with his former fiancee, Ariana Grande, on Saturday Night Live.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not insane, I know I shouldn't be making fun of how anyone looks", Pete later said before his own picture was put on the screen.

The 24-year-old comedian appeared on Weekend Update and first addressed the breakup by talking about moving back in with his mom after having to move out of Ari's apartment. "She's a wonderful, strong person, and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world", he said. "Now, go vote on Tuesday".

The NBC series previously referenced the breakup in a promo for the episode, featuring Davidson, host Jonah Hill and musical guest Maggie Rogers.

Turns out. Ariana also took the high road, and did not diss her ex.

"For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh", Grande wrote before following up with, "thank u, next". The "God Is a Woman" singer released the track Saturday night, right before Saturday Night Live aired. Grande and Davidson had a whirlwind romance that included matching tattoos and an engagement.
