According to reports, the latest addition to the family was born yesterday at 1.58pm, weighing a healthy 8lb 9oz.

Kensington Palace confirmed the birth of the boy in a short statement this morning from her sister Kate and brother-in-law Prince William. Still, the couple had enough time to attend Princess Eugenie's wedding before checking in to the hospital just three days later.

She has never disclosed the due date, however many media outlets predicted she would likely give birth this month.

She and her husband financier husband James Matthews are said to be "delighted".

Until Louis was born, George was the heaviest future king in 100 years, and while Louis has taken that title from his older brother, Pippa's son can boast that he in turn is heavier than him.
