Red Dead Redemption 2's Campaign Is Around 60 Hours Long

So ambitious was the project that Rockstar became the "biggest employer of actors in terms of numbers of anyone in NY, by miles", said Houser.

Rockstar Games has removed around five hours of gameplay from their upcoming blockbuster Red Dead Redemption 2, but don't worry - it's still long as hell. If you're not buying this game at retail, you'll need a good chunk of space.

We are just a couple of weeks away from the biggest video game release of 2018, Rockstar's wild west sequel Red Dead Redemption 2. Most major retailers are targeting the $69 mark, which is miles better than paying nearly $100 for the standard edition through the Microsoft Store. One such mission involved Morgan taking on bounty hunters on a train. Red Dead Redemption 2 Dead Eye system will expand as the game progresses.

That 65-hour run time is even taking into account what was cut from the game.

"This part of the process is always about compromise and horse trading".

Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, and The Witcher boast 20 hour, 30 hour, and 50 hour completion times, respectively. The game will let players wield a variety of weapons, from pistols, to rifles, to sawed-off shotguns, all of which can be fully customized - upgrade your gun's performance with new barrels, grips, sights and scopes, and tweak how they look with new metals, woods, varnishes and engravings.

What do you think about this news? Clearly, the studio must have compensated the devs working the extra hours.

While Red Dead Redemption 2 is looking remarkable, developers having to put in 100-hour weeks is indicative of a game development culture that's all too prevalent these days.
