Several sources called the episode "an emotional breakdown". According to the report, both trips to the hospital were due to her white blood cell count being low. "We also need to feel allowed to fall apart", she told Vogue magazine a year ago. According to TMZ, Gomez was upset because of "an alarmingly low white blood cell count".

A family member rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles where she received medical treatment and was despondent and emotional throughout, E! Not being able to leave, Selena reportedly "freaked out" and was trying to rip IV's out of her arm.

A source confirmed to UsWeekly Selena "is now resting and getting treatment for a series of panic attacks related to ongoing medical issues".

Fans of the star took to social media on Thursday to show their support and pray for her.

Selena Gomez is receiving treatment at a mental health facility, TMZ is reporting. And in late September, Gomez raised eyebrows for blasting her interview in Elle's October issue, claiming it had misrepresented her despite being relatively innocuous.
