Jimmy Butler's epic T-wolves return: 'F--king need me'

Butler's preferred trade destination is the Miami Heat, but talks between the two sides have broken down.

Minnesota was reportedly willing to trade Butler to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, but the Rockets were unwilling to part with PJ Tucker.

"You (bleeping) need me". Coaches and players were largely speechless at Butler's tour de force throughout the workout, league sources said.

When asked if Butler participated in practice, Anthony Tolliver simply said Butler "was around". He dominated the gym in every way.

The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski says veteran forward Anthony Tolliver had the following to say regarding Butler's participation in practice: "He was. around".

Butler is believed to have experienced some issues with Wiggins and especially Towns last season.

So where do we stand in the Jimmy Butler trade saga seven days from opening night?

With that in mind, the Heat appear to still be in pursuit. Owner Glen Taylor reportedly has told the team to trade him, but Thibodeau, who's also the president of basketball operations, has resisted and wants to persuade Butler to stay for the final year of his deal.

Information from ESPN's Chris Herring was used in this report. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Butler was "determined to find a way to the Los Angeles Clippers" and was looking to pair with a second All-Star in the 2019 free agency class. Most other teams, it seems, are merely monitoring the Butler news and have removed themselves from the running for the time being.

At one point, Butler found himself guarding Towns in the post. Fellow starters like Taj Gibson and Jeff Teague have gotten the burden of answering the media's barrage of questions after president/head coach Tom Thibodeau has stalemated conversations for three weeks.
