Apple releases iOS 12.0.1 to fix XS charging issue

Users would plug their iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max for charging, but it would not reflect that the device was charging. If you aren't an owner of iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, then you can expect to benefit from group FaceTime calls supporting up to 32 people as well as brand new emoji characters that will let you express yourself more clearly.

The iPhone XS #ChargeGate issue has finally come to an end as Apple has released a fix with its minor iOS 12.01 software update. The update will also fix a small WiFi issue that forced some iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max devices to connect to a slower 2.4 GHz band when a faster 5 GHz connection was available.

The early unofficial statistics show that Apple has managed to capture the attention of device owners as far as iOS 12 is concerned. If you've encountered charging or connectivity issues, you'll want to update your iPhone to iOS 12.0.1 now. Apple switched the position of the key with the one for emoji/language in iOS 12.

Other changes described in Apple's update notes include a fix for missing subtitles in "some video apps", and a fix for "unavailable" Bluetooth, although neither of those problems have garnered as much attention as the two above. Instead, they'd only do so if the screen was active when the charging was initiated.
