LG V40 ThinQ, One Phone With Enough Cameras for a Couple More


Much like other LG phones that have come out in the past, the V40 takes advantage of the company's multiple audiophile-friendly features such as the Boombox speaker that debuted with the G7 earlier this year. Here are the exclusive pricing of the LG V40 ThinQ via different carriers.

The V40 ThinQ features three cameras on the rear and two on the front. And that's the point: The V40 is straight up the most fun I've had snapping pics with a smartphone camera, and it convinced me that triple-camera arrays are more than a passing fad.

As for LG V40 ThinQ's case, the smartphone seamlessly merges still image and GIF-like moving photo into a single video. It has a dimension of 158.8×75.7×7.6mm weighing at 169 grams which is still slightly lighter than OnePlus 6' 177 grams.

Both devices have a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and both have a 3120 x 1440 resolution. After capturing a Cine Shot, which is a 3 second short video, on either of the five sensors accessible on the LG V40 ThinkQ, you can choose which part of the file will be in motion while the rest of the frame is left as a still image.

The phone will be available in New Aurora Black, New Platinum Gray, New Moroccan Blue and Carmine Red with a matte finish which should be harder to stain and mark with fingerprints. The device features military grade durability, and can withstand the MIL-STD 810G drop test. The phone supports Always-on display feature too.

Powering the V40 ThinQ is the beefy Snapdragon 845 SOC with Adreno 630 GPU. The processor is the Snapdragon 845 with 6 GB of RAM and either 64 or 128 GB of expandable storage. The phone will however be running Android Oreo out of the box and not Android Pie, with no timelines available as well for the upgrade to the latest Android version. The smartphone has 5 cameras; three on the back and two front cameras. The triple camera sensors and the LED flash on the back side placed horizontally. The rear gets a 12MP main sensor with OIS, f/1.5, PDAG, and 1.4-micron pixel size that shoots outstanding photos.

The LG V40 ThinQ comes with a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto system.

A new intelligent feature in the camera is the AI Composition functionality of the AI CAM. The phone also has dual front camera setup with 8 megapixels primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and secondary 5 megapixels sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It also supports. Wireless charging. The V40 ThinQ is LG's new flagship.

In addition, the V40 also comes with LG's 32-bit quad DAC for hi-fi audio support along with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound.

The LG V40 ThinQ will be made available in the United States from October 18, and will be priced between $900 (approximately Rs 66,400) to $980 (approximately Rs 72,300) depending on the carrier.
