The former Chelsea striker wrote in the Times: "Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice last night and he is good enough to drive his team to the latter stages of the Europa League".

As reported by the official Arsenal website, Mkhitaryan has an issue with his right ankle and he is now being assessed ahead of Sunday's clash with the Toffees.

Petr Cech has been Gunners boss Unai Emery's preferred choice in their opening Premier League games, but Leno is looking to secure a regular spot.

But Leno has always been used to such a style of play and proved that on Thursday, with the German confident his characteristics will suit Emery in the long run.

Arsenal go into Sunday's game against Everton on the back of four consecutive victories, three of which have come in the league.

"But we need to continue to improve on this because in the last minute in Newcastle and again today in the last 20 minutes, we conceded two goals".

Each match we play, I am responsible for the group and for Torreira also, today I think it is better [for Lucas] to leave the match. "Sometimes its too easy for a player like that", Glenn Hoddle stated live on BT Sport after the game. I train very hard and maybe it needs a little bit of time.

"He demands a lot, we are working a lot harder in training, running a bit more", Iwobi said in an interview. "He had a big career and is still a very good goalkeeper - it is very good to work with him and for my development it is very good to have the competition with him".

Leno's performance gave every indication that he is indeed more suited to Arsenal's new style of play, and it was put to Emery that the 26-year-old might keep his place for Everton's visit on Sunday.
