First Captain Marvel trailer starring Brie Larson drops

Marvel Cinematic Universe actors such as Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Zoe Saldana have reacted on Twitter to the newly released trailer for the latest MCU film, Captain Marvel. Saldana's Guardians of the Galaxy co-star, Pom Klementieff wrote that the trailer had given her "goosebumps" and that she "can't wait to watch the movie".

Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, future agency director and Avengers point-man, suspects that she is a rogue soldier, but is yet to learn exactly what that means. There's very little new to do with the "asshole discovers powers, montage of asshole learning to control powers, asshole becomes a little bit less of an asshole" tale, but having Carol Danvers (AKA Captain Marvel) as an already-superpowered being with no memory of her time on earth puts a neat little spin on things. When the two eventually met Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket attempted to kill Chewie, correctly identifying it as part of the risky alien species known as the Flerken. Given that Carol Danvers was a highly-regarded pilot before becoming Captain Marvel, there's something wonderful about flight being one of her powers.

Whatever the case, it's clear that Captain Marvel is one of the most exciting additions to the MCU yet.

Captain Marvel arrives in theatres on March 8, 2019. Hopefully, we'll more than just her butt in the movie. It also stars Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Clark Gregg, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Robert Kazinsky, Annette Bening, Vik Sahay, Colin Ford, and Chuku Modu.
