A week after tying the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns came one extra point away from getting their first win since December 24, 2016. Joseph spent Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins after signing as an undrafted free-agent out of Florida Atlantic University.

"The Cleveland Browns have signed rookie kicker Greg Joseph to replace Zane Gonzalez, who missed four attempts that cost the team eight points in a three-point loss Sunday, a league source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports".

Sure, Gonzalez's teammates had his back, at least publicly, and fellow kicker Wil Lutz of the Saints made a point of consoling Gonzalez on the sideline after the game.

Gonzalez missed two field goals and two extra-point attempts Sunday in the second half of the Browns' 21-18 Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The Browns have informed Gonzalez that he is being released, Cleveland.com reported.

The Browns started the fourth quarter with possession of the football and marched from their own 18-yard line to the New Orleans 26, but when the offense stalled, Gonzalez was sent onto the field for a 44-yard attempt.

But for the third time in a row, Gonzalez missed the kick wide to the left.

The Browns (0-1-1) host the New York Jets (1-1) on Thursday.

Gonzalez, a seventh-round pick a year ago, was 17 of 25 on career field goal attempts and 28 of 31 on PATs for the Browns.
