Ariana Grande knew she would marry Pete Davidson before they dated

"I had the biggest crush in the whole world on him the whole time like forever", she gushed to host Jimmy Fallon.

Ariana opened The Tonight Show with an emotional rendition of the Aretha classic (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman, and she received a standing ovation for the performance.

The "Sweetener" singer left her hosting gig on "SNL", where Davidson is a cast member, and couldn't contain the butterflies in her stomach.

Of the track on the album named after her fiance, Grande said, "it was either gonna be that or "This Is About Pete Davidson.' I was like, 'Why not?" Ariana reportedly broke down in tears backstage following the emotional moment.

Before performing on The Tonight Show, Ariana shared a photo of herself with the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, with several heart emojis. "We sang at the White House and she was so sweet and she was so cute, and I was like, 'How are you a real person?' It's an honor to have met her".

Grande later recalled receiving a phone call from Franklin, who wanted Grande to listen to music from either her nephew or grandson - Grande couldn't remember which.

Ariana wasn't the only singer paying tribute to the Queen of Soul.

"We were in the studio, we were writing and I was like, 'I can't breathe, '" Grande said. "She stepped into the room and everyone bowed down".
