COWBOY NINJA VIKING Removed From Universal's Release Schedule


Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra had been in negotiations to join Pratt, playing the female lead; if the film moves ahead in the future, it's expected that the role will still be hers, provided she can accommodate the new schedule.

The upcoming movie Cowboy Ninja Viking, starring Chris Pratt and Priyanka Chopra, has been removed from Universal Pictures' release schedule. According to various sources, Priyanka is likely to essay Chris's love interest in the film. With Cowboy Ninja Viking stalled for the time being, he is also waiting to hear who the new director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be. Moreover, the speculations of PC walking out of Bharat' for this Hollywood project have been quite rife.

Cowboy Ninja Viking, based off of the Image Comics series of the same name, would star Pratt as Duncan, a man with multiple personality disorder who is recruited by a secret government program.

The film, nonetheless, remains in active development.

The novel revolves around an assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking. She was originally set to make her feature film debut with Wonder Woman, but she bumped heads with DC and Warner Bros., and left under the guise of creative differences. Game of Thrones co-executive producer Guymon Casady has been signed up as producer, as well as Ben Forkner.

It's not uncommon for big movies to see set-backs, but with filming due to start in under a month, and production now delayed indefinitely, things don't look good for the film.

Cowboy Ninja Viking may still get underway before the end of the year, but it's unlikely that we'll the movie anytime next year.
