Robbie let the photo of her scarily accurate take on Tate do the talking, keeping the caption simple: "First look".
"First look", the Australian star wrote on Instagram Monday, sharing an image of herself donning a black sweater, white skirt and go-go boots on Instagram.
The film also marks Margot's second time starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio (How could we ever forget this pair in The Wolf of Wall Street?). The wife of film director Roman Polanski, Tate was pregnant at her home in 1969 when she was killed.
Quentin Tarantino is helming the period project, which will center around the Manson family murders.

The loaded cast includes Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Al Pacino, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins, Scoot McNairy, Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond.
The film will wrap later this year and is due to be released on 26 July next year, having originally been scheduled for 9 August to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the murders committed by Manson and his followers.
Tate's sister Debra, who owns the rights to Sharon's story, and her family have had mixed reviews of the film so far. DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, the former star of a western TV series, while Pitt portrays Cliff Booth, his longtime stunt double. The two are both struggling to make it in the entertainment industry "at the height of hippie Hollywood", as Tarantino describes.
As previously announced, Robbie is playing Sharon Tate, the most famous victim of the Manson murders.More news: Iran facing tough new sanctions reality
