Demi Lovato to enter rehab straight from hospital

Demi Lovato's assistant apparently thought the singer was dead when she discovered Lovato had OD'd, and that one of Lovato's bodyguards may be credited with saving her life, according to TMZ.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Lovato was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, July 24, after being found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home late that morning.

Insiders added that the "Sorry Not Sorry" hitmaker has since recovered from her illness, and is "getting out any day now", when she is expected to be taken straight to rehab.

Lovato entered rehab for the first time in 2010, where she was also diagnosed bipolar and received therapy for an eating disorder and self-harming.

"She will be released in the next few days and the plan is for her to go to rehab", a source told E!

"He fears for her well-being and knows that rehab is her best shot at recovering from her awful ordeal", the source continued.

Lovato, 25, remains at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she is being treated for complications from an overdose of what may have been a combination of substances that allegedly included opiates and meth.

Friends of the stars believe that the only way for her to finally cure is to leave the world of show business forever.

In June, the singer released "Sober, " a regretful ballad that has Lovato apologizing to her family and fans, admitting, "I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore". For a long time she led a sober way of life, but recently again returned to the addiction.

She said things got really hard again.
