Trump rally attendee holds up sign linked to conspiracy theory

His trip on Tuesday - his second to the Tampa area since he became president - included a workforce development event at Tampa Bay Technical High School, followed by the rally at the fairgrounds, to support the gubernatorial bid of Ron DeSantis.

"Build the wall", he says as his son piles brick-like blocks on top of each other.

Trump first endorsed DeSantis via Twitter back in December 2017, before DeSantis even announced he was running.

Casey DeSantis then mentions he reads stories as the ad depicts the congressman reading Trump's book "The Art of the Deal" to his child, with the text on screen describing him as a "Pitbull Trump Defender".

Trump supporters are a critical constituency DeSantis is counting on in his primary contest with Adam Putnam.

Florida's primary is only a month away, scheduled for August 28th.

At a rally in Tampa, Trump praised DeSantis as "a tough, brilliant cookie" and predicted a win in his race against Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in the state's August 28 Republican primary. They didn't offer specifics on how much money they plan to spend on it, or where exactly it will run.

The ad is made up of various shots of DeSantis employing his children to convey his boundless adoration for Trump. A Florida Atlantic University poll released last week showed Trump at 80 percent approval among Republicans. The president touched on a number of his regular talking points, including unemployment rates and tariffs, before talking about voter fraud.

One Republican voter commented to the Sun-Sentinel, "I usually go with what Trump wants, which is DeSantis".

"I think it's going to work out very well", he said.

The 30-second ad is narrated by DeSantis' wife Casey, whose pitch for her husband includes telling viewers that he is "an unbelievable dad" who loves "playing with the kids" and "reads stories" to them.
