Nokia X5 debuts, possibly Nokia 5.1 Plus for everyone else

No word yet when it will launch as the Nokia 5.1 Plus or if it will actually be sold in the United States, but it would make it one of the more affordable Nokia phones in the market if it does. HMD Global, the Finnish company with license to sell Nokia-branded smartphones globally, had launched Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco for the Indian market in April and was followed with the launch of Nokia 6.1 with 4GB RAM for the online market. Coming to the launch offers, consumers buying the Nokia 3.1 from a retail outlet by scanning the Paytm Mall QR code will get 10% cashback on recharges and bill payments on Paytm.

The Nokia 3.1 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage will be costing Rs 10,499 in India. Moreover, the company will also be launching the new X6 in the global market as Nokia 6.1 Plus tomorrow. In addition, users can get Rs 250 movie cashback vouchers which can be redeemed against booking a minimum of two movie tickets via Paytm. Moreover, there's also a 5% discount for ICICI debit and credit card user for purchasing the smartphone on PayTM mall and Nokia's official website.

Sprinkle some very close-to-stock Android 8.1 Oreo software goodies on top of that average hardware, though, and you get a fairly promising sub-$150 proposition. On recharge of Rs 149 pack, users will get 1GB data per day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. On a recharge of INR 595, consumers will get unlimited calls, 100 SMS/day, 18GB data for 6 months.

When it comes to the imaging department, the latest Nokia smartphone flaunts a dual-camera setup at its rear with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor. The device comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. At the front, the device bestows an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 80.4-degree wide-angle lens. Moreover, the handset also comes with up to 64GB of inbuilt storage that can expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. It will be available in Blue/Copper, White/Iron and Black/Chrome color options. The device is powered by a 2,990 mAh battery.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
