Riyad Mahrez: I want to win the Champions League with Manchester City

Only champions Manchester City conceded fewer than United in the Premier League as the Red Devils conceded just 28.

"The whole of Algeria is very excited at his move and you will see Algerian flags at the Etihad Stadium next season, without a doubt with many people in his country supporting him".

The 27-year-old Algerian worldwide forward had wanted to move to the champions in January but City baulked at the £80 million fee Leicester demanded at the time.

"I think he couldn't have chosen a better club because of Pep Guardiola and the handsome football he loves his team to play". "It's a Champions League team, who wants to win trophies every season".

He said: "The Champions League is for big clubs, they're a big club, they have everything to try to win it". It is a goal.

Jose Mourinho has signed three players so far this summer but a new centre-back is understood to be on the agenda as he looks to build a squad capable of competing with Manchester City next season. I made the decision to come here because I want to be part of that.

Pep Guardiola was a big pull for Mahrez, and the 27-year-old was asked about the City boss and his expectations.

Mahrez was keen to steer discussion away from that issue as he took questions from media.

They could have won the game.

"I am happy to be here and I have to show it". This is the past and we are looking forward now.

"I think he will do very well and the thought of Leroy Sane on wing and Riyad Mahrez on the other is very exciting - he will give Pep Guardiola more options in attack and it will be interesting to see the various attacking combinations City can use. It's a good thing".

"Not saying it now, it's easy to be wise afterwards, but I've been a big fan of his for a few years", Redknapp said at the launch of AIB's The Toughest Rivalry series earlier this week.

Sky Sports News reported in January that Man City side were admirers of Maguire but did not consider him a transfer target at that stage. He is happy for me.

'He's a big manager, has won a lot of things and written a story in this club as well. I wanted to work under him. I didn't hesitate at all. City set new records as they accumulated 100 points and scored 106 goals in winning the title by a 19-point margin last season. They broke all the records in the Premier League, which is unbelievable.

He said: "I'm very confident about myself and I hope to help this team to improve".
