Zsa Zsa, the World's Ugliest Dog, dies at age 9

Zsa Zsa was known for her protruding teeth and especially long tongue.

Brainard told the "Today" show's websote that the 9-year-old dog had been staying with her father.

Zsa Zsa won the 2018 World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, Calif., on June 23.

"We were extremely confident, and that's why we took this big trip here".

"From the moment we saw her handsome face, we knew we would be her forever home", Brainard said.

Then her fortune charges on June 23, when she and Brainard won $1,500, "a very large trophy" and a flight to NY to appear on "Today".

Despite her appearance, she thought she was a star and was named after the Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor because, according to her owner, she would lie around 'like a lovely model'.

The World's Ugliest Dog title holder died early in the morning. She was going to be an advocate to help end puppy mills. "We were all saying our goodbyes".

Brainard described the dog's death as "devastating" in an interview with Today.com, which first reported the news.

Megan told CNN then that the dog slobbered a lot because she had trouble keeping its tongue in its mouth. She beat a terrier with dreadlocks named Scamp to take home the win.

"She knew she was special", said Brainard. "She never really showed much excitement, but yes, she was definitely living it up after she won", her owner said.
