Kylie Jenner makes Forbes richest self-made women list with $900m fortune

Kylie Jenner, who made a fortune with her popular cosmetics line, is poised to become the youngest self-made billionaire, according to Forbes magazine, which named her one of America's richest self-made women in 2018.

The 20-year-old, who launched her own cosmetic line, Kylie Cosmetics, less than three years ago, has already accumulated more than $900 million. Using its standard formulation, Forbes values the company at $800 million, and Kylie is the sole owner.

And impressively, Kylie, who gave birth to her daughter Stormi in February, owns 100% of her company.

Kylie Jenner is set to become the youngest ever self-made billionaire, Forbes revealed in a new cover story Wednesday.

Being in the spotlight with her famous family at such a young age, Kylie says she was always experimenting with beauty products, and felt passionate about makeup early on.

Adding millions from TV programs, endorsements and after-tax dividends from her company, Forbes said Jenner was "conservatively" worth $900 million.

The young mum credits social media for her success, as she told Forbes: 'Social media is an incredible platform. "It could easily be an instant game-changing acquisition for any company on the hunt for a winning brand with a younger customer", senior VP or merchandising at Ulta Tara Simon said.
