Maisie Williams' Cryptic 'Goodbye' to 'Game of Thrones' Sparks Bloody Fan Theories

Maisie Williams, who plays assassin Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, announced she has finished filming her scenes on the medieval fantasy drama.

On July 7, the British actress - who plays Aria Stark on the Emmy-winning show, which was primarily shot in Northern Ireland - shared a snapshot of herself wearing white sneakers splattered with blood.

King's Landing - one of the most important of the seven kingdoms throughout the epic series' entire run - appears to be going up in flames, which is a very Game of Thrones way to go.

Actresses Maisie Williams (L) and Sophie Turner attend the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on January 25, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

Clarke posted her Instagram farewell on June 17. "What a joy I've had".

"Some fans have commented on the potentially-cryptic hashtag "#lastwomanstanding", wondering if it's a spoiler for the series finale.

In a post on Instagram, Williams said "goodbye" to Arya and Game of Thrones overall, and Belfast where she was filming.

She joked: "No, [Arya] likes red".

Maisie's not the only "GoT" cast member to spark speculation with her farewell to the show.

Game of Thrones season 8 airs on Sky Atlantic and HBO from April 2019.

However, in signature Game of Thrones style, it seems like there's more to just Arya being the "last woman standing".

One of the last remaining survivors of Season 1 - along with her sister, Sansa - Arya Stark is the daughter of the doomed Lord of Winterfell, Eddard Stark.
