UFC 226 Results: Heavyweight Championship- Stipe Miocic Vs Daniel Cormier

UFC 226 main event delivered some great fights but right before the main event's heavyweight fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, Brock Lesnar made his way to the cage-side. Shortly after the belt was wrapped around DC's waist, former Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar came in the cage and pushed Cormier hard. Welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre defended his belt in 2009 by battering lightweight champ BJ Penn, and McGregor accomplished his feat less than two years ago in his most recent MMA fight.

Cormier was overcome with tears when Dana White wrapped the heavyweight belt around his waist.

"Yeah, we are definitely going to make that fight", White said.

"I know what he's capable of doing, but it's nothing that scares me", Miocic said. Cormier connected with a short but vicious right hook on the break, trailed the fallen Miocic to the mat and blasted him with hammerfists until the job was done.

Prior to his time on the scales, the part-time fireman said: 'I think everyone wants to end the night early, that's the way to go.

After the bout, WWE superstar Brock Lesnar entered the Octagon and traded words with Cormier in a vulgar (and ridiculous) display. Cormier was victorious in the fight and became the new heavyweight champion in the first round of the fight. "But everybody's strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later".

"I am 39 years old and I've been second many times", he told co-commentator Joe Rogan after the fight.

And there was a huge shock in the opening bout of the main card, as former K-1 kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki was stopped in just 96 seconds by Las Vegas light-heavyweight Khalil Rountree Jr.

Lesnar then proceeded to rip into the heavyweights on the UFC 226 fight card.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency suspended Lesnar for one year in January 2017 because of multiple failed drug tests around UFC 200 on July 9, 2016.

"Every person I fight is bigger than me", Cormier said this week in Las Vegas. "I don't know where they are in the process but he is going to pop up on the board here soon". Welterweight Mike Perry also earned a copiously bloody split-decision victory over Paul Felder. If that is the case, then he would be eligible to fight at the UFC show in late December and not in November at MSG.
