Harry Kane inspires England to win over Tunisia

England captain Harry Kane has made a disgusting revelation about what his team endured in their last-gasp win against Tunisia at the World Cup.

"At the moment, England are effectively playing with three number 10s". Panama were beaten 3-0 by Belgium earlier on Monday. A new England with an untwistable stomach! And the captain stepped up. Harry's a top, top striker.

Meanwhile, Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney thanked the England players for his 76th birthday present with a post on Instagram.

Gareth Southgate's side dominated possession throughout but wasted a host of chances before Kane's late reprieve.

"He always leads by example and there's no better way to do it than by scoring goals, like he has been doing". Right now, it is him carrying his team instead. The movement, pace, control from the back with the ball was pleasing.

Then Kane came to the rescue in stoppage time. It's tough. We played so well especially in the first half and we could have scored a few more.

England started the game very well with great movement from Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling and Jesse Lingard. However the shot was met with a brilliant stop by Tunisian keeper Mouez Hassen, but Harry Kane was in the area for a rebound to put England one in front.

The chances were coming thick and fast, and no one created more on the night than Kieran Trippier. Despite having access to multiple camera angles, not one of the four VAR's thought Kane deserved a penalty.

The whole point of VAR's is to assist the referee on the pitch for potentially game-changing scenarios, including penalty decisions and offences leading up to penalty decisions. Tunisia drew level, and the questions surrounding major tournament pedigree surfaced again.

Kane was repeatedly wrestled to the ground in the penalty box during England set pieces. The Three Lions were dominant before and after their first goal until Tunisia scored a penalty. Pep Guardiola has infused a cutting edge into Sterling's game, yet here he was floundering about the final third, running into brick walls and down blind alleys. Ruben Loftus-Cheek played a big role that won't be talked about enough.

With limited amount of time between games this summer in Russian Federation, recovery is vital and the England squad are doing everything they can to be in ideal physical shape throughout the tournament. He may make further tweaks against Panama, as he strives to shore up the attack.

Kane is now [8.0] to finish the tournament as top goalscorer, a market where Cristiano Ronaldo is favourite at [3.45].

England's opening win at Russian Federation may give Southgate a breather but clearly there are problems to ponder for him, mainly missing out on clear goal-scoring opportunities.
