At around 5:30 pm. local time, Wohl said police in Tumwater, about an hour and a half south of Seattle, received a call for a possible DUI, with a driver erratically going the wrong way down a major thoroughfare. Police say her injuries are non-life-threatening.
The attacker, who police have not yet named, then went outside where he attempted to carjack a vehicle, say police.
While police said the shooting happened outside the Walmart, witnesses reported they could hear the shots from inside the store, which caused chaos and panic inside the retail outlet.
Q13 Fox later reported that the suspect entered the store, fired at a display case, and then exited, before being approached by the armed citizens in the parking lot. That gunman was killed by an armed civilian in the Walmart parking lot.
Wohl said at least two armed civilians followed the suspect out of the store and confronted him.More news: E3 2018: Fortnite is now available for free on Nintendo Switch
"He is a hero".
Adams said he then saw a father with his family take out his concealed weapon and shoot the gunman dead. If this customer hadn't done what he did.
When they then arrived to that scene, they received yet another call that someone was trying to carjack vehicles at Walmart. The car's occupant, who has not been named, is reportedly in critical condition and is being treated at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. When she got outside, she said she heard more shots. "About 15 to 20 seconds maybe even later, another sound exactly the same", said witness John Gerasimczyk. "He took action. I really think more people could have been shot. he saved us all".
Another woman who was shopping with her children told the network that they all fled the shop and hid behind a parked vehicle.
Police believe the gunman is the suspect in all three incidents. Police were also interviewing witnesses.
Dispatchers say there are reports of shots both inside and outside the store; no confirmed reports of casualties although social media says people were hurt.
