Infinity War is now the highest-grossing import film of 2018 and the third highest-grossing film in China this year, only behind local blockbusters such as Operation Red Sea and Detective Chinatown 2. The same report predicts a sure-shot $2 billion gross for Avengers 4. It also holds the record for biggest domestic debut, raking in $257.7 million during its opening weekend.

The license for the movie in the Middle Kingdom has been extended until 9 July. This makes Infinity War the fourth film in movie history to earn such a distinction. It's also the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India and Thailand.

Infinity War posted the biggest opening days in South Korea ($39.2 million), Mexico ($25.1 million), Brazil ($18.8 million), the Philippines ($12.5 million), Thailand ($10 million), Indonesia ($9.6 million) and Malaysia ($8.4 million). That said, Avengers 4 has the distinction of being a direct continuation of Infinity War, which will likely draw in a crowd who want to see the Infinity War story concluded.

In theaters now, Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin.
