It Took Six Minutes For E3's First Battle Royale Announcement

Activision has already confirmed this mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and today, Electronic Arts confirmed that Battlefield V will also feature a battle-royale mode.

"It will be unlike anything you've played before, and we'll have more to talk about later this year", the developers teased.

The world of competitive online shooting games officially has battle royale fever. That will include a focus on "moments of human heroism" and "facing the brutality of war".

Today's press conference also reiterated the message of "no loot boxes, no premium passes" for the upcoming first person shooter. Players complained that this wasn't historically accurate (even though many women did fight on the front lines of the war for certain countries) and that it broke the "immersion" that DICE promised for Battlefield V. Most of these arguments are flimsy covers for men who hate women.

The first look at DICE's latest addition to the "Battlefield" franchise was revealed in May with a new trailer, and sparked some controversy as well as curiosity about what the developer would reveal for E3. It's as he tweeted in May: "Player choice and female playable characters are here to stay". EA Access and Origin Access Play First Trial will come early on October 11 and Deluxe Edition early enlister access will open on October 16.

More information about Battlefield 5 and its new multiplayer mode will come out during Xbox's press conference Sunday.
