Actor Bradley Cooper made his directional debut with the film, which he co-stars in and co-wrote. Cooper is making his directorial debut, while Gaga is in her first-ever lead role in a film. Following the film's glowing reception at CinemaCon in April, Warner Bros. has officially dropped the first trailer for what will surely be an awards contender this fall.

The original "A Star Is Born" was released in 1937 and featured Janet Gaynor as a budding actress entangled in a relationship with an established Hollywood star played by Fredric March. Then the drama, romance and singing turn up when Gaga enters the picture, and steals the spotlight from Jackson Maine, played by Cooper.

The teaser opens with a seasoned country singer named Jackson Maine (Cooper) performing at an outdoor music festival.

There is also one point in the trailer where Lady Gaga's character lays out exactly why she is too shy to sing her own songs on stage: "I just don't feel comfortable". The movie has been remade a couple of times in the years since, once in once in 1954 with Judy Garland and once in 1976 with Barbara Streisand.

MUSIC: All the music is original and was written by Gaga in collaboration with Cooper and other artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. A just-released trailer for the film, which opens in theaters October 5, is filled with original music sung by its two stars, suggesting that the film won't just be up for multiple Oscars but a ton of Grammys as well.

We love Gaga's platinum blonde locks, but it will be so fun to see a new side of her on the big screen! Eric Roth and Cooper & Will Fetters penned the script.
