Nabil Fekir's agent breaks silence on reported imminent move to Liverpool

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has not completely ruled out the possibility of holding on to Liverpool target Nabil Fekir beyond the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp has funds to invest in an attacker after Liverpool FC sold Brazil global Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal from FC Barcelona in the January transfer window.

"He said via his social media account: "#Fekir and his agent Jean-Pierre #Bernes should be in #Liverpool this Sunday to settle the final details of the transfer of the French global.

"Liverpool's interest exists, but for now, there is nothing done and other clubs can also happen".

The Reds are believed to be in the driving seat to sign the Lyon midfielder and it was claimed that Fekir was set to travel to Merseyside on Sunday for talks with the Premier League side.

Liverpool have already completed one signing this summer, with Fabinho joining from Monaco earlier this week.

France's official account for the national football team tweeted that Nabil Fekir has returned to their World Cup training camp but where did the Frenchman go?

It's thought that Fekir is worth around £50 million, so Liverpool will have to splash the cash to seal the deal - something which they seem prepared to do.

Speaking about the recent speculation linking Fekir with a move to Liverpool, the player's agent said, "I did not leave Marseille (this weekend)".

At Liverpool, a starting berth would surely be hard to come by given how good the club's front three were last season.
