Netflix Horror Anthology Series From Guillermo del Toro in Development

How awesome is it that we live in a world where we're getting a horror anthology series from Guillermo del Toro and a new Twilight Zone series from Jordan Peele?

It's a pretty big step for Netflix, "Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight" will be an official Netflix production, and the show will be Netflix's first original horror anthology series. Del Toro, who created the series, will bring his visionary style as a writer and director to certain episodes.

Del Toro will not write and direct each episode.

It's worth noting that del Toro has a home in Toronto and frequently works on films there.

Details are still sparse, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, 10 After Midnight will be an individual episodic horror series, similar in that way to The Twilight Zone. That show will return for its third and final season May 25. Del Toro is, by now, a film establishment all of his own - though it should be remembered that Hitch was the master of suspense, while del Toro's genre is decidedly horror. He's the mastermind behind some of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, including Hellboy, Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth, and many others. He created the FX series The Strain, which wrapped up a year ago after running for four seasons. When will it premiere? We can't wait, but it might be a while until we get to see it - the series doesn't have a release date at this time.

Anthology horror shows have a soft spot in my heart.
