Brazilian gunman's robbery of school kids foiled by gun-wielding mother

DRAMATIC film footage has shown the moment a mother turned the tables on a gunman outside her daughter's school - shooting him dead when he pulled a pistol on other terrified mums and children.

The officer, who has two decades of experience in the military police, said she wanted to shoot the man at a close range and neutralize him before he could hurt anyone.

Corporal Sastre may have been off duty at the time, but she was not about to let Mother's Day distract her from her duty.
