Blizzard celebrates' Overwatch's special occasions with events, and a big one is coming up on May 22, 2018.

The event, a celebration of Overwatch itself, returns with "past brawls and cosmetics" in addition to newly designed content. Between May 25 and 28, you'll have an entire weekend to download the game for free, play it, and decide if it's worth purchasing or not.

The original Overwatch Anniversary event added 100 new cosmetics items, which were available in Commemorative Loot Boxes. That also helps keep Overwatch relevant as Blizzard continues to promote its major esports project, the Overwatch League. The anniversary event is also introducing Competitive Deathmatch, giving players a chance to earn a rating and climb ranks. Brawl will return as well along with new cosmetic items. It will have placement matches, skill tiers, and leaderboards, just like regular Competitive play. Blizzard is launching a digital-only Overwatch Legendary Edition, which features the base game plus a bunch of Legendary, Epic, and Origin skins. An extra golden loot box will be given when purchasing 50 Anniversary loot boxes.

The Brazilian Overwatch Twitter account accidentally leaked a video last night which reveals Blizzard's plans for the Anniversary event.

Junkrat was featured getting a pirate-themed skin that can be unlocked via loot boxes or in-game cash.

Overwatch is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Additionally, all previously released loot boxes for seasonal events are included for the anniversary event. However, fans of the game were quick enough to rip the video and distributed it all over the Internet.
