Late this week, the CDC said it had added 12 more people to the list of people who have been infected with Salmonella Braenderup, stemming from eggs that came from the Rose Acre Farms facility in Hyde County, N.C.
Last month, more than 200 million eggs from the North Carolina farm were recalled because of bacterial contamination.
Twelve more people have been reported sick since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) first issued an advisory about the outbreak in April, the organization announced Thursday.
Officials said more illnesses could be reported from people who ate the bad eggs after March 23.

The company pulled 206 million eggs from shelves in April, but the CDC says some might still be developing infections.
In April, the Food and Drug Administration ordered a mandatory recall of kratom products manufactured by Las Vegas-based Triangle Pharmanaturals after investigators found that numerous products contained salmonella.
The eggs, while produced in North Carolina, are owned by Rose Farms, an in based company. The possibly tainted eggs were distributed from the farm between January 11 and April 12. It can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain among healthy people, but can lead to fatal infections among children younger than 5, adults older than 65 and those with weak immune systems. Alternatively, bacteria in the hen's ovary or oviduct can get to the egg before the shell forms around it.
In February, Triple T Specialty Meats, based in Ackley, Iowa, recalled more than 20,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken salad products that may have been contaminated with salmonella.
