President Trump Recalls His Mom In Official Mother's Day Message

"Since the earliest days of our Republic, America's strength has come from the love and courage and devotion of our mothers", he said.

But despite having five children by three different women Trump didn't mention any one of them - most notably his wife Melania. "I learned so much from my mother".

He also praised all American mothers and their role in World War II but during the entirety of the video he never once mentioned his wife, who took a break from her fashion business to focus on being a mother while performing the duties of the first lady.

Donald Trump's plans for Mother's Day apparently don't include spending the afternoon with his wife.

My fellow Americans, today is one of the most important days of the year: Mother's Day. "I miss her a lot", he said. She posted a picture of pink roses on Instagram and Twitter, adding the message "Happy Mother's Day!".

Trump says his mother was "warm, loving, really smart", adding she "could be tough if she had to be". Trump's decision to go golfing rather than spend the day with his wife - and the mother of his fifth child - has drawn some scrutiny from critics. They share a son, 12-year-old Barron Trump.

On May 9, at an event celebrating military mothers and spouses, Melania talked about the strength and patience required to bring up a child.

"Happy Mother's Day to Melania".

"Thanks for the sentiment but based on your historical awful treatment of women in general and the Mother of your son Barron in particular you are the last person I would want extending any kind of support to my Mother or wife", a tweet added. You know, the Mother of your youngest son.

President Donald Trump's special Mother's Day address included a tribute to his "incredible" mother, but he surprisingly did not mention First Lady Melania Trump.

"Happy Mother's Day to ever mom out there, especially the remarkable moms in my life, Michelle Obama and my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson", it read.
