Weekend weather may make way for Mother's Day activities

EXTENDED: We're going to see a chance of showers and thunderstorms for much through Thursday. Otherwise temperatures vary quite a bit across the area today, with warmer and sometimes stormy conditions through midweek. Since this system is traveling up from the Gulf, South Alabama and points south of Interstate 20 will see the rain and thunderstorms first.
