Tej Pratap Yadav gets engaged with Aishwarya Rai in Lalu's absence

On Wednesday, RJD leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap Yadav got engaged to Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya Rai, a history graduate, is the eldest daughter of six-time RJD lawmaker Chandrika Prasad Rai, a former minister.

Lalu Prasad, who is serving jail terms in connection with fodder scam cases and now undergoing treatment at AIIMS in New Delhi, could not attend the function.

While Tej Pratap donned a navy blue "bandhgala" for the ceremony, Aishwarya, an MBA from Amity University, wore a light blue "lehanga".

Former Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap, who celebrated his 29th birthday two days ago, exchanged rings with 25-year-old Aishwarya Rai at a traditional function.

Minutes after the ceremony got over, Tej Pratap wrote an emotional "Miss you PAPA" message with a sad emoticon on Twitter.

Rabri Devi had famously told reporters that she wanted daughters-in-law who respect her in-laws, didn't go to the mall and ran the household well.

Sources claim that Lalu Yadav is likely to move the court for parole to attend the marriage of his elder son scheduled to be held on May 12 in Patna.

Aishwarya looked every bit of handsome in her gloden-embroidered blue gown which she teamed with a net dupatta and Tej Pratap looked dapper in a bandhgala.

The couple had recently met at the Patna airport when Tej Pratap was returning from Delhi after meeting his father and Aishwarya was flying to the capital. Rai was also a minister in the previous RJD government.

Tej formally joined politics ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls in 2015.
