Fortnite Season 4 is live, complete with new Battle Pass

The game's Season 4 update is now live, with new themes and skins for players, as well as gear, magic and other loot to battle over.

The meteor has wiped out Dusty Depot which is now a giant hole in the ground, but it's not the only new location on the map.

First, when you jump from the battle bus, ignore any urges to visit the brand new Dusty Divot location and keep flying towards Loot Lake.

For a start, there is a whole new location to explore. There, but also in other parts of the map, players can stumble upon craters that have glowing rocks lying around. Effectively changing the gameplay as well, especially with the low gravity introduction via hop rocks.

It's worth noting that to find any of these things you'll need to have the Season 4 Battle Pass.

One of the tasks presented by Epic Games this week reads: "Follow the treasure map found in Tomato Town". Many of these additions are inspired by superhero and comic book imagery, including the Omega Legendary outfit that is awarded to players who unlock every tier this season.

The much-anticipated meteor shower kicking off Season Four of "Fortnite" has arrived.

The fourth season of Fortnite is upon us, and it's bringing some pretty big changes with it.

Season 3 changed how Seasons worked by increasing the number of tiers (and therefore rewards), but keeping the amount of time needed to unlock everything the same from Season 2. There are also new elements to existing areas, like Anarchy Acres, and comet impacts scattered across the map.
