A North Carolina restaurant is offering select customers the chance to eat a tarantula burger topped by a giant oven-roasted spider.
Bull City Burgers Tweeted: "People say it tastes most like crab, or other shellfish, sometimes with a bit of a metallic-y taste". You can stay up-to-date on the tarantula challenge by following Bull City Burger on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
The promotion is part of their sixth annual Exotic Meat Month, which celebrates the restaurant and brewery's anniversary by serving burgers made from meats eaten around the globe each March and April. "Try one for yourself!" One lucky (?) victor per drawing gets to sink his or her teeth into the giant furry legs.More news: United Kingdom calls for UNSC meeting on OPCW report on Salisbury incident
At least four people have completed the challenge. If their ticket is drawn, they must claim the prize in two days.
Bull City states other meat combinations will be available through the month, ranging from the usual (turkey, duck) to the less usual (python, camel) to the Rocky Mountain oysters.
Customers courageous enough to scarf down the hairy spider get a t-shirt to prove their venture.
