Trump was speaking Tuesday about his administration's investments in space exploration to members of the military when he said that space is becoming a "war-fighting domain".
The commander-in-chief doesn't think the US military is large enough - so he announced during a weird press conference Tuesday that it will expand beyond planet Earth via a "space force".

It was unclear whether The Donald was joking about the idea of "Space Force".

However, the bill does leave the door open to a future space-related branch, The Hill reports, by requiring the Secretary of Defense to study the possibility of creating a space-related military branch someday. The goal was for the United States to stay ahead of rivals like Russian Federation and China, which are advancing in space-related military operations.
